Music is an art form whose intermediate is sound. For somepeople, it's life. Common components of melodies are pitch (which governs tune and harmony), tempo (and its affiliated notions tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the sonic features of timbre and texture.
The creation, presentation, significance, and even the delineation of music alter according to heritage and communal context. Music ranges from firmly coordinated compositions (and their recreation in performance), through improvisational music to aleatoric forms.
